Port Stephens, escape and surround your self in blue water paradise with its natural beauty and surroundings, first noted by Europeans in May 1770 when Captain James Cook referred to Port Stephens in his log as "an opening forming a bay".
Magnificent Port Stephens is located about two and a half hours north of Sydney, on the East Coast of Australia, and has a population of about 50,000. With over 19 miles of pristine clean, white, sandy beaches home to around 165 bottle nose dolphins, which live in the Port itself. If you are lucky you can view them from the shore or you can hire a boat or take an adventure on one of our most popular dolphin and whale watch cruises “The Tamboi Queen”.
Experience like no other, Between the months of May and November, over 5000 humpback whales pass through Port Stephens waters during their migration north to warmer waters and later in the year during their journey south to Antarctica.
There are many wonderful walks around the area, especially along the many coastal paths. Surround yourself with spectacular views of the bay and further out to sea from the Tomaree and Yacaaba headlands.
With a wide range of wildlife with many varieties of plants and birds take an adventure into several of our National Parks surrounding Port Stephens, Offshore there are numerous islands to explore, including Cabbage Tree Island home to a range of wildlife and Broughton Island which is a great spot to go diving and are well worth exploring.
